Alright since we're not allowed to discuss whether or not the M17xR3 has or does not have dual gpu capability in the official Discussion Thread, let's make our own thread for specifically that purpose.

Does the M17x have CrossfireX or SLI support? I've heard no word confirming it, but I've also heard no word officially denying it either. It's all up in the air. Does anyone have some cold hard facts of the matter?

notebookcheck has a benchmark for Crossfire 6970 2gb mobilities. I'd like to know how they got that benchmark (although the numbers seem flawed) if right now no laptops support Crossfire 6970 mobilities that we know of. On rjtech, you can buy the Clevo x7200 with dual GTX 485m's in SLI, but still no laptops with dual or even single 6970's. We know the R3 should have a 6970 in it. Is it possible notebookcheck got that CFX 6970 mobility benchie from a CFX Alienware M17x R3?

Check threads regarding M17x R3 and M18x. No CF or SLI in R3. Possible M18x to include CF/SLI is a few months away.

Rumours all, but there you go.

Why open a new useless thread when this has been discussed many times before.

Let's wait until tomorrow before we discuss any lack of dual gpu options for the r3. I was at CES today and that was'nt what I was told.

I wouldnt put too much faith in tomorrow either, as Dell may delay dual cards as they did in the R2 5870. They're just going to make us wait...
