Last night on HBO's True Blood, the King Vampire Bill was using Alienware. Most shows feature Mac or Vaio... it was nice to see it.

It was the big desktop, and it was shown several times!

Just passing along that the Vampires use Alienware! You're like gee really, what else would they use... true ; )

Cool! I also saw Alienware in that movie Hot Tub Time Machine.

But really, a lot of people don't know what it is. When they see mine they ask, "What is that" and I tell them and get the inevitable, "Why didn't you just buy a Mac." Some people just don't get it...

They showed it on Nikita also. Birkhoff(The nerd of the show) was using it. Not sure if R1 2 or 3 though since they all have numpads. But I "KNOW" it was a m17x.

    LOL get a mac? Ahahaha.

From the same people who use iPhone because someone told them it was the best (not because they checked it out and know themselves, and you can come to that conclusion, I am not bashing iPhone) but simply because that is what they were told. Those people annoy me.

It appears from this thread, Alienware is a TV star! Good to know ;)

BBT has other Dell products in the show. Penny had an Inspiron 1520 (I think), while Sheldon and Leonard both had XPS M1710 notebooks until Sheldon received an M17x later on the show after the apartment break-and-enter.

Seeing that BBT has been around for 4 years, I can't call Howards notebook a Dell product. I think it's an A51-m15x.

I take care of my sisters Mac, upgrade it, make bootable clones of it, sync it, back it up, clean up the mess she leaves behind, etc. They are okay, I just get tired of Apple owners telling you there is nothing better than Apple.

I guess this was a tad off topic! my bad

"Boring" is the key word there. Apple users like the simplicity... simplistic is another word for boring. One of my smartphones is Nokia N900 (currently) running maemo 5 with root access. I can brick that thing, it's my choice - which is the only way to go. "My" choice...

Not just that. For the freedom of customizing my iphone 4 how i want. For example. Ive replaced the boring apple boot up logo with a really cool HD Alienware head the glows into view. Ive change my carrier from vodaphone to Alienware :)) ) and ive also added an alien ware theme its actually now an iAlienware 4 :D

Ive also enabled tethering without my carrier knowing. Added a feature so i can have the apps icons where i want on the screen. And there a whole load of other things too like torrents and stuff.

Not to mention mods so that when listening to a smaple in tunes, you can hear the whole song! How cool is that!

Exactly, the Iphone is the last apple product i will be investing in. I would have sold it by now if the Sony Experia play wasnt such a let down.

With the jailbreak you made the most out of it - good for you! It shouldn't be that way though, which I can tell you know.

    +1

Offtopic, but I am working on bringing Hackintosh to the M17. Its just a nasty bit to work with at the moment. I could never bring myself to pay 2500 for a crap 17" mbp when I just grabbed this top of the line m17 for a full 1000 less. And then apple fanboys assert that their system is the best, windows sucks, blah blah blah.......... gets on my nerves. But I think they're just jealous that they blew all their money on second rate hardware. Not many people know about alienware :D

Kind of weird that "some people in some forums" actually complain that the glowing alienhead on the lid is childish,as compared to a certain company that has a glowing fruit on their lid... :p

    Hey there Sandy,

Long time never hear you in this forum until today. How're you doing? :)

Yeah agree with you. I remember I saw Alienware laptop in "Chuck" TV series. In one episode I even saw AW sold in the Buymore store. :D

If you think about it though, your paying an extra 1k just for 2 things.

An apple that's been eaten, and a full white casing/chassis, whatever you call it.

Well hello to you too Francinep7! I check in now and again but haven’t posted anything in a while…

And as for Mac’s – the white plastic zoolian982 refers to is cheesy and hideous. The plastic is cheap looking and feeling, it also makes the keys like “stick” so it sucks for any heavy typing. It also gets too hot, if you wear shorts and your legs are bare it eventually gets SO HOT it will burn you. You have to put it on top of something, and then it keeps “sliding” off your lap because the plastic is too shiny and slick… I don’t like working on it because it’s already hot here, I don’t need some stupid laptop adding degrees to the room. You should really have centralized air conditioning to use a Mac. The “Geniuses” at the Mac store should ask you that before you buy, “Due to excessive heat generated from our cheesy plastic chassis we recommend centralized air conditioning.” Meanwhile, my Alienware can go full throttle and no excessive heat ever hits my wrist “paws" or legs -- so nice :)

They were shown on the last episode of Lie to me. The people who invented the social network were using m17x r2s. Also, that Birkoff from Nikita uses an r2 or r1, probably an r2.
