    Hi all

    I have bought a 4 gb clevo Radeon 8970m to replace my nvidia 660m,
    I have wiped my laptop and reinstalled windows 7 but my laptop will not recognise my new grahics card , I have downloaded many drivers from amd and none have worked also tried to get some unlocked bios and failed to even find any please someone help me .

    Hi all just an update rewiped windows 7 and installed alienware resource cd drivers but no amd drivers my grahics card doesn't show up in device manager or the bios , has anyone installed one of these cards am I doing it wrong ? I can't find any driver to go with the Radeon 8970m I'm considering getting a refund for the item as I'm pulling my hair out

    The 8970M is a 7970M rebrand. If possible, use ATIflash with a 7970M Vbios on the card. That way, the laptop will see the card. Unless... anyone else has an idea? o_O

    it usually bricks the card when you do this. It was tried at techinfernoe.

    I would just return it and buy a 7970M instead. They're literally the same card. There's no performance difference between the two.

    You're gonna go through more trouble trying to get the 8970M to work rather than just getting the 7970M.

    Hi all I managed to get hold of a unlocked a08 bios and got it installed and disabled my internal card and I can't start my system so I'm going to reflash with A05 get the 8970 m out and send it back lol had enought of it now - how can they sell these saying they fit in alienware m17 r4 ? Lol
