First time poster, Hi everyone.
I recently decided to try and upgrade my R2's ram (my 1st time doing a RAM upgrade) from the standard 4GB total to 16GB total. I bought a set of two 8GB Kingston valueram sticks from Amazon ValueRAM 16GB Kit (2x8GB) 1333MHz DDR3 PC3-10600 Non-ECC CL9 SODIMM Notebook Memory KVR13S9K2/16 at Amazon.com
After putting these in and powering on, my pc reboots when trying to boot into Windows 7, but it can boot into Ubuntu just fine and ubuntu recognizes the full amount as 16GB. I ran memtest86+ from grub which halts on the 1st error, my old ram seemingly passes the memtest. I figured that windows might be the problem and so I created an installation usb for 8.1 which quickly flashes an error and reboots the system when booting from it.
Is there anything else I can try, or should I try to return the new ram. My specs are all stock with an i5 processor.
Thanks for the help!

Bump with some new info.
I've been slowly updating my drivers to the latest versions according to DriverMax. Still no luck but wrote down the results of some tests with the ram. Memtest86+ run from grub boot menu. Also my Bios version is A10(custom) EC version 15.34

I believe that sending it back would be the best way to go about this.

You might be right about that.
I ordered some Corsair Vengeance 8GB sticks on 1 day shipping after hearing of another R2 owner running them successfully but they are having the same problem. I even did a clean install of windows 8.1 and re-flashed my bios to the official A10 version just incase, still no good. I really hate giving up on these kinds of things but at this point I might have to just settle for two 4GB sticks instead (which will hopefully run without a hitch since 8GB is officially supported).
