Could some hidden genius help us all out, a bunch of people looking online for an answer... right now that I installed the GTX 1060mxm msi I thought I was going to be able to use the HDMI IN succesfully as ive seen other users with this setup use it. I am getting Audio from the HDMI IN but not video, the screen just goes black! while its on the HDMI IN. most people have this problem on windows 10, maybe there is something from the dell support page we need to install for it to work.

    things ive tried:
    - Regedit the DisableHPDFakeMonitor =1
    - Uninstall all video drivers with DDU and clean install without geforce experience, only Drivers and Audio
    - Disable the video adapter from Device Manager
    -Try 3 different HDMI cables
    - Installed OSD driver from Dell support page
-Try and install the intel hd drivers but windows wouldnt let me as I have the 120hz display so no optimus.
-Clean the port with brush and electronics cleaner
-Scream this, i'll sell you if you dont work at the top of my lungs
-Then I tried more sources. (Nintendo Switch, Chromecast)

Called Dell support and ofcourse they dont know crap
so if any of you unnamed heroes out there could help, it could be a awesome thread on it own because nobody has been able to solve it and people with the R3/R4 and m18x are having similar issues.

    Thanks a Bunch!

Did you try a source where you can edit the output? 480i 1080i 1080p etc

If you get audio then probably a resolution thing.

I would be stoked to see if whatever fixes your setup works for the 1070

Have you tried different versions of the Nvidia graphics drivers? I had a similar problem on my R1 a few years back when I still had an 860M installed in it. In that case I had a white screen with no audio, and it turned out for whatever reason that the specific version of the Nvidia driver I was using at the time just wouldn't work with the HDMI passthrough feature.

I had yet another problem with HDMI passthrough when I upgraded to a 1060. Like you I had a black screen. I decided to reinstall Windows, and that did the trick for me.

I'd say try different Nvidia driver versions. If that doesn't solve the problem, try doing a fresh install of Windows. If that doesn't work either, someone smarter than me will have to help you.

    Yes I have a few. But likely Win10 + 1070M issue.

    398.36, 399.28, 430.39, 430.64 & 436.15 (now installed)

I've also tried numerous combinations of OSD. Original then like 3 later versions. Then mixing the original with various combinations of the later version files.

    HDMI-In is:
