I received my Alienware m17x R4 a couple days ago but unfortunately all i have been doing with it is trying to get the touch media buttons in the top right to work. I have read that draining the power or reinstalling the OSD program might fix it so i tried both but it changed nothing. So i thought it had to be a connector and i opened it up but the connector seemed to be fine. Any ideas what i should do now?...

Also one other thing: since i was forced to check the connector i thought i might as well install my other 8gb of ram in the process even thought i had originally intended not to bother after i found out the other two ram slots were under the keyboard. However the ram hinges that usually pop up when pushed to the side this time did nothing. So i am confused, are the hinges stuck? Or do you install memory differently in the front?

Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!

Call dell have them come out and replace them. Mine were not pushing in fully when I first got my laptop so the first day I was already calling support for my warranty. They sent someone out and he replaced just the media keys since my keyboard was fine. I was pretty pissed having to use the warranty so soon but it was really easy and painless and has been working great since.

What do you mean you're buttons were not pushing in fully? The media buttons are touch are they not?

Wow, well i feel like a moron. I thought these keys were touch keys and they are not, lol. I heard that they were touch which was obviously incorrect, oh well i like physical buttons much better. Sorry for the trouble.
