    Hi everyone,

I have an alienware m17x R2, Im pretty sure I got it around 2010. Anyway its been sitting for the past 4 or 5 years and I was interested in upgrading it. A new Graphics card for sure the one in it cannot keep up with most newer games on a decently high setting. Also the CPU is only an i5. I was looking at maybe putting an i7 into it and doing some light OCing. I wanted to see about putting a i7-920XM inside from what I can tell the socket is right and the Mobo seems like it will support it. I was watching a video on youtube of a guy who did this upgrade to his laptop he bought what he called an engineering sample CPU he was saying it worked for a little while but he came to find out that it doesn't tell the CPU fan to ramp up when it needs it to... my question is I have found a 920XM on ebay for 180 dollars the guy selling it tells me its a QS and explained that its what intel sent out to company's so they could build their stock systems around it. Would that cause the same problem with the fan not being told to ramp up in RPM? And also what is the best graphics card I could jam in this bad boy?

    Thanks in advance
