Hello! I know that this machine is somewhat dated but I recently purchased one for a price that I couldn't say no to.
My issue is that GPU-z displays the crossfire as disabled but crossfire is available. I've spent countless hours reading guides and looking for help on my issue, I really hope someone can help me out.
I have the dual Amd 5870m cards.
    Thank you. :)

Firstly check Catalyst Control Centre under gaming performance.

Is the link between the 2 cards attached properly?

Does it list both cards under Hardware in Control Centre?

If it still persists after doing Russ' checks, try doing a full uninstall of all AMD drivers (use DriveSweeper in Safe Mode) and then reinstall the latest version.

You can also use HWiNFO64 (or two instances of GPU-Z, for that matter) to see if both cards are actually being utilized when you're gaming.
