I want to upgrade the hardrive of my m17x r3. I do not know what is compatible or what is a good hardrive I can buy to replace. I do not want SSD though. I am aiming for a 1 TB - 1.5 TB hardrive. Any ideas of what I can buy to fit?

    Thanks.

1TB drives are about 12mm thick
    1,5TB drives are 15mm thick

The 1TB drive will probably fit, but the 1.5TB drive may lead to problems. To be on the safe side, you could open the computer and measure the height of the HDD slots.

The m17x r3 should be able to support a 1TB raid 0, the thing is I dont know which one is compatible to replace in my system. Can anyone link me to a newegg link or something..?

i have the 1.5 tb raid 0 direct from the factory.... i think it is a good balance between speed and size and the outragous price of a SSD. you will not be able to restore your factore image to it most likely...just be sure to install the raid driver at the begining of your windows 7 fresh install or your windows install will fail at the end (some error about not being campatable with this hardware).

I would recommend two of these hard drives in RAID 0. I am running one right now and it made quite a noticeable improvement over the drive it replaced.

Once I get my M17 , I will buy another XT and take the one from my current computer and put both in a RAID array.
