Hi there fellow alienware friends, I have a Alienware m17x r3, absolutely love it and I ave finally registered to this great forum, so much info and great reviews, im still learning about my beast though.

I decided to install a SSD for bootup, i left the Raid option in bios as is, installed the SSD in the 2nd drive bay and removed the 2 WD 750gb scorpios, did a fresh windows 7 install, all was well until I decided to put bak one of the 750gb WD scorpios, I had reformatted the WD on another pc, after installing the drive and when windows loaded I got the driver not installed correctly message, the 1 is my dvd-rw drive, HL-DT-ST DVDRWBD CA30N and the other is the WD 750gb hdd

Anyone experienced this issue, I have tried to search for the dvdrw driver with no luck
Any help would highly be appreciated

that's really weird, have you tried uninstalling the driver completely and letting Windows Update look for the best one for it.

Yes I did try that, it finds a driver using windows update but then says "access denied" when it tries to install the driver

Don't know where I read it once but when I do a fresh install, I remove/disconnect all my drives exept the future bootdrive.
