welcome to NBR! sorry to hear you're having issues with your R4.. i've had other keyboard issues that required it being replaced so have gone through the process before..

try going to device manager and uninstall your keyboard from the list.. then restart.. if still no luck just call dell/alienware tech support.. you're under warranty.. let them take care of it..

when you get tech support, someone will walk you through the troubleshooting steps.. and then eventually either send out a tech to replace your keyboard or next day ship the keyboard to you if you prefer to replace it yourself..

If this doesn't work try an external keyboard if possible or restart your computer and press F2 to enter the BIOS and try your keyboard there.

If it still won't work send us an email at [email protected] with your service tag, phone number and a brief description of the problem you have with your keyboard. I'll dig it up and set up a repair asap.

    Solution.....restart.......if not change
Turn on on screen keyboard to rule out software involvement........if its working on onscreen keyboard the likelihood is your keyboard needs to be changed.....

Use an external keyboard to make further confirmation...

If you are technically savvy kindly remove the keyboard and reseat it.

if none of the above work....get the keyboard changed....

I personally developed an " A " problem few days ago..I removed the keyboard and uncapped the key...manipulated the rubber contact under the key cap. Then it started working...However it happened twice like that. So i eventually got the keyboard replaced....Why bother fighting with it if it can be replaced with it.

However I am really curious how so many of your keys suddenly stopped working.....

You will need to call DELL UK. They will ask you for the service tag to review the warranty details.
