I have an alienware M17xR4 and am currently having overheating issues.
I was just wondering what the easiest way to fix this would be.
i have been looking for cooling mats but so far nothing that is practical with the size and placement of fans if someone could help i would be very great full.

What part is overheating? CPU or GPU? A cooling pad helps but is not always needed unless you live in a very hot climate. Something that props up the back of the laptop will be beneficial in helping to move air.

Usually, a simple repaste of the part's heatsink will fix your heat issues.

Have you tried repasting the stock TIM with an aftermarket? MX-4, Shin-Etsu etc are good choices.

Taking your laptop apart won't void your warranty. You are allowed to service your machine.
