I cant use the sleep mode on my alienware anymore. When ever I wake it from sleep mode the screen stays black. The lights turn on and I can even click around the screen to make sounds but it wont display anything. Any idea on what I should do???

I'm hearing that the latest beta from NVidia (if that is what you have?) 337.50 is curing this for some people :)

if you have the 120hz 3d screen its definately a driver issue, the new beta drivers 337.50 fixes the refresh rate on wake up properly...

I have the AMD 6990m. Lol the drivers are TERRIBLE to update. Ive spent atleast 6 hours spread out over a few days trying to update and it simply will not work. I would have to pay somebody to fix the driver update issues I guess but I simply cant imagine paying somebody for that

I will never go back to the AMD graphics cards simply because the driver issues I have had with the 6990m have been terrible. It's a great card but poor driver support from AMD.

I've got a 7970M and I had an absolute nightmare upgrading the drivers today... Spent almost 3 hours but found a simple way. Uninstall all your AMD stuff, wipe registry/run driver sweeper. Then download the driver from the following link.

Modded Catalyst 14.4 WHQL (switchable graphics fix) - Guru3D.com Forums

Run it as admin etc and you should be fine. Otherwise, uninstall everything again and Intel HD drivers and try installing the driver again...

Edit: if your'e having a load of issues installing drivers, have you just tried installing the newest ones on top what you already have? That seems to be the safest way... If it doesn't work, do the above although, its at your own risk ;)
