So i have an Alienware M17xR3 and it wont boot up (hence the title) but when ever i do try and turn it on a little clicking noise happens and the alienhead on the back of the monitor turns off then on, and sometimes i can get the alienhead on the keyboard to turn red. but other than that theres no signs of life, i bought a brand new mother board and put that in and the only difference that made is the key board flashed on then it turned off. and its been like this for over a month and i cant get it to work. is there a modal that messing with the computer causing this? or should i just put it out of its misery with 5 lbs. of tanerite?

I am going to move your post into the sub-forum for your model. You might get more help there.

Try removing the video card and booting from the Intel iGPU.
