After doing some research it seems like the m18 r2 is the laptop I'd like to go with due to not having to deal with optimus. The question is, I have configured one on line with a price of 2999. What price should I be able to reasonably haggle them down too. Ie what would be my goal price and the max price I should pay. Thanks for any input.

Optimus or Enduro really are not that terrible. You can disable it if you want to. But, as for haggling them down, you might be able to get an extra 100-200 off. It really depends. I would honestly recommend browsing the outlet site. You can get some great systems for very cheap.

I got my Alienware m17x R4 off the outlet. Scratch and Dent side, no scratches or dents anywhere. I got the i7 3630, 1080p display, 7970 card, 16 gigs of ram, 64gig msata 750gig HD, all for $1600. Normally priced new at around $2300 - $2400.

So, major deals are to be had on the outlet. The warranty is the same as any warranty you can get.

Optimus really isn't that bad now that they have the drivers refined. As to haggling for an M18x, I'd advise taking a look at the M18x forum and the Alienware Purchasing thread. :)
