Ok so my buddy has an alienware mx 17 that he tried to "reset to factory" he did this by throwing in the windows 7 disc that came with the computer and installing, leaving everything a mess.... So i went through and formated his hardrive and reinstalled windows 7, however now I have no drivers, no wireless connection to the net, I can however plug in the ethernet cable and get internet, Is there somone out there that is willing to give me some step by step instructions on how I can get his computer back to or as close to as we can when it arived at his door step, On a side note I have tried to download alienrespawn and everytime I do it wants .4 framework and when I try and install that it fails, also I have tried to get the windows updates and it just sits there and says searching. Any help is appreciated. thanks

Well thanks, but Im looking for things like, As i try to install the dowload of alienrespawn it keeps telling me I need the .4 framework and when i try to install that it just sits there, I left it over night and it was still where it was when I left it, I can manually install some drivers and make some things better but I need a way to just get it back to factory again, On a side note some of the buttons on the keyboard are not working either, I have noticed that if one does not work if I hold shift then hit the key again it puts the letter in... kinda weird.... I wish he would of just used alien respawn the first time around.

I would just go to the dell website and install every driver you can. That is what I do every time I do a factory restore
