My AW17 180w adapter wouldn't work, the wire broke a bit near the socket so I bought a new 240w adapter.
It came without the power cord though and my 180w power cord doesn't fit in that one.
I contacted Dell, they said they don't have a compatible power cord in stock and they've raised a complaint ticket to have it sourced.

My new adapter has a socket like this, without the power cord.

This looks like a regular SMPS socket we use in desktops. Will any power cord I buy work?
Where can I just buy a dell adapter power cord with this kind of socket? I don't know if wattage is important for just the power cord.

Yes, you can buy a desktop power cord and it will work.

Excellent, thanks so much. I did see a 10A-250w written inside so I was hoping that would be the case.

Not sure if it matters, but get a thicker one. I think the thinner ones are designed for LCD screens and such
