    Hi all,
I'm sure this is probably a dumb question....
I just ordered my Alienware 17, not due to be delivered for about 4 weeks.. :(
I'm shopping for an external monitor to use for gaming, and was thinking of going with a BenQ XL2420T 120hz monitor.
From the reading I've done, for it to use 120hz, I'll need to use the dual dvi cable that comes with the monitor. My question is, does the alienware have an output port that is compatible with this cable??
I don't see anything listed as 'dvi out' in the alienware specs. Am I missing something?

    Thanks!!!

You will need an HDMI to DVI adapter. HDMI is basically DVI, quality wise, so a good adapter won't decrease or lose performance.

Good choice on the monitor, btw.

That should work as well. Does the BenQ monitor not have an HDMI port? That's strange...if not.

I believe it does, but you apparently need to use the dual dvi cable it comes with if you want to enable the 120hz

You would to use the mini display port on the AW 17 as from research hdmi does not support 120hz output.

Both should work without issues, let us see some pictures of the set up once you get it ;)
