    Hi Guys,
I have a problem with GPU-Z becoming non-responsive when I choose the 580M display adapter. Seems on GPU-Z forums other ppl with optimus systems sometimes have this problem. Just wondering if there is another good temp monitoring program for the gpu that I can run so that I can judge how effective the cooling pad is under different loads.
    Thanks!

Or if anyone has a solution to my gpu-z issue I am open to solutions :)

    **EDIT**
Found an answer to my own question. MSI Afterburner lets you view and log temps as well. Good times.

    **EDIT #2**
Thanks for all the replies, some real diversity out there :) Have found the the Targus HD3 chill matt doesn't do jack. Did a test with laptop on it and no fans on and then with the fans on low (fans on max is pretty loud for the chill matt so not worth it) and finally a test without the matt using the laptop on a table for all tests. I played Bad Company 2 for 20 minutes with each setup. Basically temps are the same without the matt (Just below 70 degrees celcius) for the GPU. It might just be handy if I need to use the laptop on my legs to create a space for air flow.

the 2 main ones I use are GPU-Z and hwmonitor, the latter shows temps for the cpu (per core), hdd, and gpu as well as voltages. It shows the minimum temp it hit, the maximum temp, and the what the current temp is.
