Be careful to not use something that is conductive. Personally i would just use a strip of electrical tape.

Same kind of aluminum tape used for air conditioning. There should not be anything around the fan and heat sink radiators to have to worry a great deal about conductivity. Masking tape, plastic electrical tape or duct tape will leave behind a tacky residue that needs to be cleaned up. Cloth type electrical tape and the aluminum tape not so much. On an Alienware I am not sure sure how much that will be helpful. You can certainly try it, but the fit is a lot better than Clevo. Maybe try some of that blue painters tape intially to see if it makes a measurable difference. That stuff peels off easy, with no residue. If works well you can use something more durable (and difficult to remove). Be careful using a strong tape or you can end up tearing apart the heat sink radiators trying to peel it off later. If you need to remove it, peel it back from the fan and leave it stuck to the heat sink. Fold under a strip of tape along the edge lengthwise (sticky-to-stick contact) to make a "handle" to grab onto so it will be easy to peel back if you need to.

Electrical tape is easy to clean up as far as I have found, it's not as sticky as the others.
