I installed amd driver 12.2 and got good frame rates but then a few days later games started to lag. I then installed the 13.4 and still get the lag. How do I fix this?

Well, sine it was working correctly when you did the update then I would suggest a system restore back to that date.

You can also try doing a clean install of the drivers by deleting all ATI software and registry entries, some people use DriverFusion for that.

I used amd cleanup and then I use driverfusion in safemode. Now I can't install any amd drivers it says warnings occured during installation. I install different drivers I had even old ones and still didn't work. Do I have to reformat the laptop to fix this? Here is the log file:

You need to install the DELL drivers first and then the AMD drivers on top of those.

Which 17x revision / video card are we talking about?

You could try the "manual" way instead and see if that helps:

I have the m17x r2 with 5870 crossfire. I have to install the official video dell driver first then install the amd drivers without uninstalling the dell drivers?

First, make sure your laptop is running on BIOS A10 --> Type msinfo32 in the start menu's searchbox or look for it in your BIOS (F2 at startup)

Second, have you updated the vBIOS on your cards?

No --> Download & install this driver, then download & flash the vBIOS. (You need to do it with Dell's driver provided on my link)

Once it's flashed you can remove Dell's driver and install the latest one using the guide I had linked above.

Yes --> Download & Install the latest AMD beta driver or latest AMD driver if you don't like betas.

I installed the vbios before I had this problem and bios A10. I can't even install dell official video drivers anymore which are old and new amd drivers. Which happen after I did a clean install with driver fusion and amd cleanup.
