Nvidia has released GeForce 331.82 WHQL drivers.

    XP/XP64

    NVIDIA DRIVERS GeForce 331.82 Driver

    NVIDIA DRIVERS GeForce 331.82 Driver

    Win7/8/8.1

NVIDIA DRIVERS GeForce 331.82 Driver WHQL

NVIDIA DRIVERS GeForce 331.82 Driver WHQL

    Notebook drivers

NVIDIA DRIVERS GeForce 331.82 Driver WHQL 32bit

NVIDIA DRIVERS GeForce 331.82 Driver WHQL 64bit

Just had a quick run through and I'm thinking NV may have finally got rid of most of the TDR bluescreens and stuttering!

This driver has by far the lowest DPC latency since 314.22. Around 35% lower time spent in the IRQ table.

Tried a couple of in-game benchmarks and it's fractionally slower FPS , but just a couple of frames. Now I need to hammer BM AO as I did have a slight stutter sometimes.

They really need to come up with a winner after 8 months of problems...

Not seeing any downside to trying it. Voltages good, FPS good, stuttering gone (so far, needs more testing) so since NV have stated WHQL again (although this has been no indicator of quality!) run it up and let us know before/afterwards results ;)

Can't actually personally recommend it right now as it's only been a few hours but it is looking good ATM :D

Tested these on 3DMark11 and game benchmarks (Metro Last Light, Bioshock Infinite, F1 2012, Tomb Raider, Batman Arkham City). Identical scores and fps as previous whql (331.65). No issues with this driver so far.

Has anyone seen any evidence of the "up to 50% performance improvement in Metro Last Light"? In the release notes it just says up to 19% improvement in several games, but on the download page at NVidia it says the "up to 50%". I didn't see any improvement in Metro Last light.

What was you coming from? This says 327.23 to the 331 series.

I didn't expect any improvements in this one over the last. More about stabilising it. The only game that seems to have got a big improvement for me is BM AO. Seeing 60fps to 80fps with all except AO maxed. 3D is a joy to behold. Something like a 20% improvement. Wish the game had a benchmark like AC so I could better judge.

Let's see if AC Black Flag gets the performance NV are promising

Haha, just noticed we have exactly the same test suite! :D

I was coming from the previous whql (331.65). I know that the 19% and 50% that they quote is in comparison to 327.xx, but the 50% quote is something new, so I figured there was a possibility of improvement over 331.65. I think the 50% quote on the NVidia website for Metro Last Light could be a typo or something, because there's no reference to that claim in the actual release notes for the driver, instead it just refers to the "19% improvement in several games in comparison to 327.xx" (which is the same claim made in the previous driver - 331.65).

Haha, yes, we test the same games - probably because they have benchmarks built into them, it makes good sense! :)

Your improvement in fps in Batman AO was quite impressive though. Worth updating the drivers then!

Ahh, I guess it's two different marketing people using different source data

I did see the 20% in BMAC and 25% in DiRT Showdown (another good in-game bench - love the way you come higher in the race as you tweak up the FPS!) they talked about at the last release.

The BMAO is a little strange though. For a couple of days I was seeing a P1 throttle for a few seconds when gaming, then it just stopped the next time I played without doing anything. The game has been patched twice so that may play into the huge increase . I turned off vertical sync in the driver as well as the game since it caps at 60FPS for some reason, but I see 120FPS (still being capped somewhere?) in menus.

    Certainly worth a spin-up :D

To run BM AO benchmark ->Steam launch options -> add benchmark -nostartupmovies

Play -> Press ESC to cancel benchmark and return to main menu or remove benchmark -nostartupmovies from launch options.

    Done :)

Edit : Steam launch option also removed  Nvidia..... or game patch messed up performance....

Thanks man. Can't get it to work though (using properties, launch options). The load screens are gone but the game just enters the main menu. I tried adding an '-' at the start and then it does the same but with no sound? Am I missing something?

    Thanks

Wow, that is super low latency numbers! Makes me wonder if I have some other problem, even with the virus checker off I see quite a few hard page faults as well? Probably time for a re-install of windows - argg, if the new model floated my boat I''d plump for a new one!

    Cheers,

And what latency do you get with usual 331.82 and with earlier R331?

The previous one would fail at 1000u, this one peaks around 600u (DPC) and appears to be fine.

First boot result, Quadro 300-400 µs - Geforce 450-600 µs still better and fps remain the same.
