Express install through GFE from 340.42. No issues except I can't find where it expanded the install files. This and the last release did not create anything under c:\nvidia... No rollback option either that used to be there. I'll post in the NV forum in the vain hope of an official reply, haha.
Anyhoo, I run my usual batch of in-game benchmarks with the games cranked up (Batman AO, Hitman Ab.,Dirt Showdown, TR, Bio-Inf.,F12012, and Thief).
Basically all the same with a one or two FPS drop. Except Bioshock Infinite, that jumped from 69fps to 85fps - but I see these anomalies sometimes.
This appears to be the last beta maybe with a few fixes slipped in - we hope.
Watch Dogs is probably going to show if they have started to fix the stuttering although I have never experienced it.
On a similar tack, my benchmark exe for Metro Last Light vanished from the application folder since I last benched it. Anyone else or just something weird for me? -
Thx for sharing man! Will post my findings as well on my 880m (still using slv7's vbios).

Haha
Doesn't seem likely but for those suffering I keep my fingers crossed. You can't get around borderline hardware without crippling it in the driver (IMO). It is working fine for some so let's see how it plays out - and don't buy an 880m ATM.
NV have avoided all questions regarding stuttering except to say 'Probably not fixed in next WHQL' in the last driver thread. -
No difference on my system. Haven't tried games though

Need help updating nvidia driver to 340.52. I'm currently on 337.88 . When I go to g force experience is says last checked update is 5/26/2014 so I click on check for updates and nothing happens. Still says last check for updates is 5/26 /2014. Also how do I go about updating g force experience itself maybe that will let me update drivers
Thanks.

Forgot. I have 2013 alienware 17 with 770m and have never had a problem updating nvidia drivers for almost a year now .

Reinstalled g force experience and seemed to have fixed problems . Downloading latest nvidia driver now. Kinda weird why g force experience would just stop functioning correctly.

It seems that there are still a lot of unhappy (desktop) users with this driver version but is just fine for me. Next one probably in the next week or so.... -
The only thing I use g force experience for is updating my nvidia drivers that's it. The game out optimization settings in g force experience seem Redickulus to me. It turns everything way down so I don't use it. I have a 770m and turn all settings in all games pretty much maxed out except aa and physex and my system don't seem to have a problem running anything so far.

Yeah, you can now tell it to optimise for quality but I only see it as a good starting point. Anyone not knowing about the settings also gets some info on what they do. It is nice to see all my game settings on one page though
I always run max physics and compromise elsewhere if needed. There is so much missing when it is dialled down -
Hi All,
Is it OK to use video drivers from NVidia website rather than official ones (which are almost two years old in my case, lol)? Are there any restrictions when using those?
Thanks!
P.S. I have Alienware M17x R4 with GTX 660M -

If you have any games with benchmarks built-in it might be an idea to run it before and after to see if it improves anything. Heaven 4 (free version) is a good test as well: Heaven Benchmark | Unigine: real-time 3D engine (game, simulation, visualization and VR)
