Hey all, was considering buying an Alienware m17x r3, but I wanted to know how both the 3D and non 3D screens compare to other similar specced machines like the Sagers. Most Sager resellers offer 90% color gamut matte screens, and I do a lot of color sensitive work. I'm really leaning towards the m17x but I'd want a little clarification on the qualities of its screens.

Detailed stats on the non-3D screen can be found in Notebookcheck's review of the R3.

As for the 3D screen, not sure.

If anyone can find better specs for both screens I'd like to see them too.

I Made a short video of the panels when I had them side by side. The non 3D 60hz panel at full brightness was about halfway brightness on the 3d panel. if you don't like bright screens you're ok. I like my display brighter which makes colors look better etc and coming from an rgb to 120hz I can say that I wouldn't buy a 60hz panel even if it came with a free 990m gtx in sli with 8gb of ram per card.
