    In the U.K and just had BT Infinity 2 installed and to be honest not getting great wireless speeds off it compared to my old Virgin Media setup.

    I've done the usual things to try and help it, but it isn't great, so figured with the BT Home Hub having a 5GHz channel that I'd swap out my wireless card for something better and hope that improves speeds.

    I've done a check with wifi analyser and there is no one else around using 5GHz at all, so I should get not interference at all. Thanks for any advice :)

    An intel 6300

    Or if you really want "low latency" but with some headache, a killer 1103-Qualcomm

    If that's the AC supporting router the 7260 is going to be the best pairing.

    Yeah its the latest AC version. Thanks for the replies. Pleased to see cards aren't as expensive as I thought they might be :)

    Just make sure it's the 7260AC version as there are versions that are not AC.

    Heh heh, I am sorry didn't realise there were AC classed hardware so readily available, I'd prolly have advised the same, but be aware up till recently there were driver issues with the device on 7 or 8.

    In my personal opinion I would wait for a 3stream AC card.

    Good luck finding a router that costs less than a laptop to provide support for that though :p

    Your 2 best options are the intel 6300, or Killer 1202 (the intel has 3 antenna connectors, allowing for longer range wifi, and better reception). The killer has 2. However the killer has lower latency and is there for better for gaming.

    Intel = $30
    Killer = $55
