i feel bad for starting another thread, but this is the last thing that annoys me about the R3, the battery life. I think i get about 1 and 1/2 hours off a full charge at most. It is quite annoying to run to the adapter every hour. I have the brightness down to lowest, and the 120httz off. yet i still get only about an hour and half. If anyone one has any suggestions on how to make the battery last i would def. appreciate it. Also i have checked this whole forum for a thread like this before i started mine, and did not find one. thanks in advance.

I find it odd that you're only getting about an 1 or so of charge, are you switching to the integrated graphics when you're not playing video games?

Well, you have the 3D screen so the IGP is disabled. The only thing I can think of is running in power saver mode maybe.

i do not have the option to switch to the IGP seeing that i have the 3D R3. Thanks for the help though.

I believe i tried that when i first received the R3 but did not see any difference i will try again and let you know the results. Thanks for the advice.

Anyone else have any other suggestions they would like to share, i am all ears.

Turn down brightness all the way, get more RAM, get a SSD, and undervolt your GTX 460m. thats about all you can do.

I thought the 3D R3 didn't come with Optimus and therefore could be switched manually...or is that not the case? Just curious!

Maybe youre battery is faulty. I'm on high performance mode with the lights off and the screen at 42% and got about 3 hours or so surfing the web.

Turn bluetooth and wireless off can help also. Screen brightness and the little pretty lights eat up the most energy.
