    Anybody have a source for replacement M17x R2 batteries?

    They seem to be as rare as hen’s teeth. Anybody know where I could source a replacement?

    I occasionally see some on eBay, but you are right that they are rare. I'm lucky that the battery in mine is still working with a decent capacity. If you really need one you can always disassemble the battery and replace the cells. Its a pain in the arse but its doable with a bit of soldering.



    Oh and if you are still interested, I saw an M17X R1 for sale on eBay the other day. Unfortunately its US only though.

    I'm eyeing a parts machine now in ebay, I'm hoping it doesn't attract too much attention...if I get it for under 300 I'm happy.

    Has anyone rebuilt one of these packs and left some information behind in someway as a guide or had some comments as to watch out for? Its getting to where people are buying spare machines just to get the battery then dumping the laptop back on eBay.
