Tried unofficial overclocking method?
-
I've only tried afterburner, what type of unofficial overclocking? Flashing vbios?
-
no success here as well, when i am trying to do it like R3 users normally do, with modifying cfg file in afterburner ( eula - i accept and bla bla understand ....) when i double click MSI afterburner to run it, my laptop FREEZES and i have to force to shut down by holding power button.
Rage !
Sour !
Hating it !! -
That problem also occurs to me, either I can't move the sliders or frozen laptop
-
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Can you try it with Sapphire's TriXX?
-
I also got the same problem. Had another thread about the issue. All sliders are on the left and can't be adjusted.
-
i tried sapphire trixx 4.3 and it didn't work, the sliders were on 0 and you could move them up to 10 but when you hit apply they bounce straight back down to 0
edit: okay guys i got afterburner working, here is how:
first of all uninstall any form of afterburner you have, once uninstalled go to program files(x86) and find the msi afterburner folder and delete it. reboot your computer.
Now download this version of msi afterburner and turn off your antivirus + firewall.
once installed, check the directory of msi afterburner and the .dll file should be there as this is version 2.2.1
now we need to change some settings, open up the .cfg file in notepad and change your settings to those in the picture, you don't have to put the EULA in.
now your afterburner should work and be able to overclock, i recommend adding an exception in your antivirus and firewall before turning it back on.
Make sure to untick "apply overclock at startup" otherwise you will have some serious performance issues at stock settings! -
bahahahaha, that's the oldest trick in the book for desktop users.
I thought you'd already done that. -
Oh I did but all the links that people would give didnt even allow the application to launch, however this version did the trick for me.
i did the exact same procedure with every version i tried and this was the only one to work. i thought just in case this doesn't work for someone might aswell post my method aswell
Anybody with the R2 managed to OC 7970m yet?
