I received my brand new M17x-R2 a week ago and I started noticing some things... The front part of the casing (with the touchpad) is a little looser on the right side and the keyboard is slightly warped in several areas.
Now, the unit is running flawlessly, I'm just wondering if anyone encountered aesthetic defects like these before and would it mean that certain components are not placed/connected properly on the inside?

my R2 seems to be perfect.
If i were you i would open her up and put it back together again. Maybe when they built it they didnt line the keyboard up properly and same goes for the touchpad.

Thanks, already ordered
. Had a feeling I got a weird machine... funny thing is, it works perfectly.
Also, do you think the parts may be built/cut from the factory in such way so that they might not really line up? That would explain the front casing but not the keyboard being warped... -

If your keyboard is really bugging you, it can be removed and shaped a little bit due to the metal backing. There are three screws under that battery that secure the palm rest, you could try tightening them.

I'm pretty sure they will manage to make it worst than it is now.
Aside from a sad but true joke, keyboard should be a easy fix like talon said. Not sure what you are talking about the palmrest though.
Anyone encountered strange factory build defects?
