Picked up Crysis 2 today and installed it on my R3 with a 460m (non 3d). Upon launching the game for the first time I entered the serial key and was told activation was complete. After this the game does not launch. Attempting to re-launch the game results in it asking for the key again and the process repeats. I have already gone into the Nvidia drivers and whitelisted the game. I am also running the latest Nvidia drivers and the latest game patch. I have also reinstalled the game twice with no luck. Any tricks on how to get it to launch?

When you entered the key did you put the "-" in between the set of keys?

Might seem stupid question but i didn't and it wouldn't launch.

OOoohh yes, I had this problem. I was in EA tech support for 3 hours (and they gave me a $20 gift card cause they couldn't fix it heh)

So I called Dell and they fixed it.

Go over to the Nvidia control panel, go to 3D settings and go preferred graphics processor as the High Performance one.

Then go to set PHYSX configuration and set it to the 460m. It should help :D

Yes, the dashes are in there. After entering the key a window pops up and says "Activation successful". After this the game does nothing. Trying to relaunch the game just repeats this process.

I have already configured the Nvidia drivers to use the "High Performance Nvidia processor" for this game. No luck.

    Any other ideas

Call dell and say your card isn't working :D

or go the way I did which involves modded bios and treading dangerous waters.

I had this exact problem yesterday (I just bought crysis 2 from EA via origin and it literally asked for the key and said it activated successfully.. then nothing else happened)

I did the nvidia control panel thing to add crysis.exe to use the high performance graphics option but I also had to launch the crysis launcher manually from the folder it was installed in.

    For me that was:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Crysis(R) 2\bin32\Crysis2Launcher.exe

    Give it a shot

I am now able to launch it no problem through origin. Maybe something else happened that resolved the issue for me but to the best of my recollection I had to literally open the launcher manually, once, for crysis to actually work.
