It seems like my Alienware M17x R3 w/ 580m and 296.10 drivers is having trouble with the steam overlay on *some* games. Most Valve games, such as Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2 work ... but others don't.

Borderlands, for starters, isn't starting the steam overlay when it used to on my old M11x. I don't know what's going on.. I've whitelisted the GameOverlayUI.exe in the steam folder, but it doesn't seem to "catch" for some games.

It's not a huge issue, I guess... but it's annoying for the few games that use Steam's in-game interface to facilitate invites and group chat. Is anyone else having issues like these and know if there is a fix or something? I contacted Steam and they basically told me there was nothing they can do about anything and to contact the game maker.

I have 675M using the same drivers, have not noticed any steam overlay issues.

I've tried x3, Skyrim, Batman:AA, Crysis and crisis 2, serious Sam 3 and quite a few others. I don't have Borderlands on pc unfortunately.
