Crysis (the original, Warhead is OK) is still one of my favorite games to play, besides Battlefield 2.
Anyone play it on very high or high with playable framerates (20-30) with an M17x R3?

No body has an R3 yet so it's kind of a hard question to answer. As for speculation I would say very high with much AA is gonna be a very tough number to push.

I don't mind no antialiasing and perhaps reduced resolution.
I'm will to make sacrifices. I just love the object-motion blur, etc. -
I'm guessing it's going to play 1920x1080 very high no AA at 20-25FPS. since the 460M is very close to the mobility 5870, the numbers should be similar.

The R1's and R2's with 2 GPU's have trouble with the game, I can't imagine and R3 will be able to handle it.

I never had trouble with the games (Crysis, and Warhead). I run in the low 40's with xfire and high 20's without.
My gtx280's ran 38-39. -
The 460 will have a few less pixels to turn with the 1080 vs 1200 and the benefit of a stronger CPU too. How much CPU does crysis use? I've never even seen the game I still play cs source lol

Play the game. I just started playing it a week ago and beat it yesterday. What an amazing game. Hard to believe such gorgeous graphics and effects are over found in a game that is over 3 years old (with an even older engine).
I play it at 1080p on very high on my desktop PC (a quad core CPU with a GTX 460) and it runs very good, but it makes the GPU work and the frame rate does drop occasionally to the point where it is noticeable.
Based on that anecdotal evidence alone, I think the R3 460m is going to have a tough time maintaining a good frame rate at 1080p on very high settings, particular with any type of AA added. (Frankly, at 1080p on very high, AA seemed to be a waste as it was barely noticeable and resulted in a significant drop in performance). -

Never mind the new CPUs, the new GPUs so far I think are big disappointments. I wouldn't expect much out of them at very high/1920x1080/no AA, as with my setup I get around 30-40 depending on the situation.

I just want it to play star wars force unleashed II at high settings.

if you are unsure of what graphic cards can run crysis, just youtube crysis/crysis benchmark. there are thousands. for example, Crysis benchmark 5870.
here is a video of crysis warhead I made a while back. this video was made with stock dell drivers and the old Vbios. the system was completely stock when the video was made. YouTube - M17x 5870 Crysis Warhead
here is one of crysis with single 460M from Asus G73JW. so the performance of the GTX 460M from M17xR3 will be very close to this video. YouTube - Crysis Warhead (2 video graphics settings) on Asus G73JW 17.3" Gaming Notebook
for all you peeps thinking the 460M will dominate crysis, you are wrong as the video above shows the settings are not all on highest.
here is the video for the 460M 1920x1080 all on enthusiast mode. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JGz37bBPVU -
Crysis need to be modded to play it well. What I did was set the resolution @1920x1200, then set everything to high, and manually enable all the cool effects, like motion blur, and DOF, water max effect, etc, you can easyly gain 10 fps twaeking crysis .ini file and get the same look as if you were playing at very high.
Anyone play Crysis on Very High on an M17x R3?
