Yes, mine boots on battery. I usually start up the computer before plugging in the AC. Your issue is interesting though and I wonder who else has this problem. Anyone?

I'm running 11.6 and will give it a try. Typically I don't unplug mine so haven't had a chance to try it out

*EDIT* Ok just booted mine off the battery with no problem. Sorry, not sure what might be going on.

I can't figure it out. I'm going to install stock Dell drivers and give it a try

Well that didn't fix it same thing blue screen after log on screen.

Boots fine in safe mode and boots fine with no graphics driver installed.

    Going back to 11.6

One rep said the battery could be bad. This makes no sense to me but who knows.

Yes.. I'm on the phone now with a tech. He wants to replace the mobo, both video cards the battery and the ac adapter.

I would rather have a replacement but they won't do it.

Hmm probably just a software issue but they can't pin point it

Up your cpu voltage to 75mv. See if that helps.

Have you tried resetting BIOS to defaults?

If not, perhaps repairing the install?

    Thanks guys..

Problem solved. They put in new video cards and all is fine. Gave me a new battery as well.

This also fixed my HDMI to TV from going black every so often.

    Thanks again
