    Hi guys,

Had a quick test of Star Wars: Force Unleashed 2 on my machine (full settings). What happened was quite annoying. The movie before the game stars is full of flickering. Like it's full flickering the whole time. Then I got the the game bit, and it played perfectly, no lag, nothing. Then the movie came on.. more flickering.. then crash.

Something to do with drivers or what.. people who have tried it let me know. Cheers. (I'm still on 10.8's since 10.10's are a little buggy)

    Oles Chiefs,

No flickering for me however I can't really play this game. I get that same crash as well. Its quite shocking lol. BAAMM it will just strike out of the blue. I normally know its going to happen. I see the game just stops or after loading it just sits there and nothing. Then bamm BSOD. I too have tried those drivers and the same thing every time.

My mate with Nvidia GPUs has had no such problems though. He has just finished the game in fact. So I gather it is just an AMD GPU driver problem.

Heres another chief who encountered the same issues as us earlier last week.

    Cheers. :)

Hm interesting, thanks for the reply.

I don't exactly check *which BSOD* error it is, because to me.. a BSOD is a BSOD these days (lol.. I've had enough of trying to figure out the root of the BSOD problem).

Any reason you think I might have the in-game flickering?

And yea.. I did think it had to do with AMD drivers... as Nvidia one's seem to be the more reliable ones.

I gave it another go after posting this, and I actually managed to get decent 30 mins of gameplay in.. before ANOTHER video popped up.. screen went black, sound continued playing.. so I pressed escape... then BAM.. the dirt is gone.. er I mean BSOD.

I figure it's the interchange between video and gameplay (although I did take off Antianalysing). Didn't check FPS tho, so can't tell you that.

Too bad, the game looks like it has good graphics!

    Hey chiefs,

Yeh the game is so fun and has awesome graphics.

Yeh it seems the vids or something makes it BSOD. I run FRAPs and I range around 20 - 30fps during game play. I have played for 30 odd mins to 1hr before (must have been a lucky streak lol) However if I die to many times and the game has to reload from my save point BAM it will most likely crash. So I have to try not to die too often LOL.

Hmmmsss not to sure about your filickering though chiefs. Its quite an odd ball flickering. I also seem some users have it in some games and where others will never encounter it. + they all have same or similar specs and are using the same drivers. Very odd stuffs.

Yeh I didn't really look up the BSOD either except I saw it was ati something something. So I just assumed it had something to do with AMD GPU drivers.

Man you gotta check out some of the massive boss fights later on OMG    Awesomes!!!

Hopefully AMD fix this major bug for us in the next GPU drivers release. Which we could be waiting a very very very long time for. ;)

    Cheers. :)

I can't find it on PC in the UK. Steam or Amazon.co.uk don't sell it on PC only PS3 & Xbox. :(

The in-game video-game may have something to do with the BSOD. If I remember correctly, it has something to do with the flv rendering. For me to get smooth video cut-scene, I went into the FMV/Win32 folder (inside the game installation folder) and added the extention: .wmv to all the files.
Disclaimer: I don't actually play the game. My son does. But what I did above fixed the problem with the video flickering.

Yes, it's the driver. Catalyst 10.10d fixed the flickering in TFU2 videos for me. Of course there is no official mobility version so we can either try your luck with modded drivers (didn't work for me) or have to wait for 10.11. Or even better, do it like I did.
I managed to fix it by creating a profile for The Force Unleashed 2 with RadeonPro (by the way, this utility is a must have for Radeon card users - if you don't have it yet, I highly suggest to install it, it's free and can help you work around much of AMD/ATi's driver/game compatibility woes) and adding the 10.10d D3D driver in the compatibility driver profile for it (this will launch the game using the 10.10d driver while you have a different driver version like the official dell drivers installed which will be used for everything else).

How's SWFU2 so far? I've heard some pretty nasty reviews about it. What do you guys think?

you'll have to play that game on single 5870. crossfire has issues with random crashing and BSOD.

    Hey folks-

If the above profile doesn't help, their is another way to fix the stuttering videos- I found the solution via Google after much headache. :)

Make sure that Catalyst A.I. is disabled in your control panel, and that triple-buffering is turned on. Once that is done, you should be home free to enjoy what is a very short game with a frustrating as hell ending that just annoyed the bejesus out of me. :)

You're probably getting the same BSOD error as us within the game. It's not an overheating problem, just a video card driver error!
