    Hi,

I'm a new owner of the Alienware m17x r4 as of today with the 680m + 3D screen. Everything works perfectly, except a red dot, only on black backgrounds appears. Can anyone change their wallpaper to solid black, and tell me if they have a small red pixel in the top middle of the screen? The reason I'm asking is because a service tech is going to come to my house on tuesday & replace the whole LCD. And hearing the horror stories I don't want anything else ed up on my laptop, so I was wondering if anyone else was having this issue?

Thanks in advance & remember that the wallpaper must be black.

Obviously you have a stuck pixel or bad pixel that gets "stuck" or wont change. The only course of action is have the repair man come out or get a refund. Best of luck to you.

Just keep a sharp eye on the tech and make sure they follow the disassembly guide to the letter and you should be alright. :)

Yeah I'm just going to say, please be careful with the machine it was very expensive and I really only want a tech out here once. Also that I have an anti-static bracelet if he needs. Thanks for the advice.

Why did you make 2 threads in the same exact area with the same problem? people gave you their opinions in the other thread.
