Is this with every bluray disc or just a specific title? If this happens with every title, then I would ask Dell for a replacement drive. If its just a specific title, then more than likely its a compatibility issue with Cyberlink. Try a different player - see if its playable using Windows Media Player/Windows Media Center.

Is this a blank with burned data on it? if so, perhaps try a different brand of media.

That was a long 20 minutes haha. If it's really not working, you should probably call Dell about sending someone to replace it. Did you receive the m17x recently?

Are blu-rays region locked? Could they have given you the wrong blu-ray region if this is the case?

My R3 has a Blu-Ray player, and I've used PowerDVD 9.6 and even 10 Ultra without issue. The drive has been able to detect a disc even with the 9.5 version that didn't work with my Optimus setup.

Definitely sounds like a hardware problem.

Does Windows Explorer show that a disc is inserted?
