Since my first thread went off-topic with people telling me to ask for an 18x, I decided to make another thread.
    ____

I am getting a replacement M17x R3 for my broken R2. I R2 was fully maxed, so what do you guys think the approx. specs for the R3 will be?

They won't give you an m18x anyways. It was more of a "what they should do".

Anyways, it depends on what you're looking for and what qualities you need/want most in you machine. If you're not worried about losing the aluminum shell and dual GPUs, then in my opinion... if your R2 was maxed out - then your R3 should be maxed out as well to make up for losing the dual GPUs. If 3D isn't a big factor, make sure you go with the 6970 GPU because it will run better than the 460 for sure.

That's my two cents. Hope it helps. They are replacing my second R2 and mine wasn't totally maxed - but it was pretty close and since I was being downgraded on the GPU and shell - I made sure that they MAXED out everything else. I still prefer the R2 or m18, but if I have to settle with an R3 then it better be loaded and you should be the same way. Do not settle for a low end R3 because I think you'll be dissapointed going from two GPU's to one already.

Again, just my opinion. Sorry your other thread got off topic - I don't think that was anyone's intention.

    Agreed make sure it is a Maxed out R3, 6970, 2820, 16gb ram...etc.

Good Luck hope you are happier than you were with your R2. :)

Yeah, I was told the same thing. It's been 5 days now and no updates. Going to wait till Monday morning and call CS. I did get an email for instructions on how to mail something back to them, but it didn't say what I was supposed to mail or why I was mailing it, lol!
