I'm not sure but this doesn't seem right to me. I don't think gaming performance is that bad, 100-160 fps in Cod5 max settings but 30-40 fps max settings GTA 4.

EDIT: I am using regular A08 bios which I was told downclocks the system. This is why I posted this mainly for conformation. Thanks again guys!

Alright thank you! Does this mean I am not being underclocked at all by A08 bios? Just wondering thank you again.

Have no idea if A08 downclocks the system, I am also using A08, I guess even widezu is using A08 (but unlocked :))

Those look like idle clock freq's. That's normal.

Once optimus detects a full-screen game running, it should step the clock rates up to regular freq's. You can check this on the fly with an application like MSI afterburner using on-screen display.

I don't think they are related to optimus directly, they are the current frequencies of GPU, so if it is not using it will show 50ish, if it is using it will show somewhere 600ish (core clock speaking)

Good point. I wonder if changing the "power management" option in the nvidia control panel from adaptive to high performance would have any effect.

Those are stock clocks for the 580M, with the GPU-Z Sensors tab reflecting that the card was in idle state (P12).
