I've had this systems for ~8 or 9 months now and I have had all that I can stand. The fact that almost every time I put this system to sleep the video drivers crash and it won't wake back up and that the HDMI-in has NEVER worked right. I called again today with the HDMI-in issue (actually I just asked while I had him on the phone because my M11X has to be repaired for the 4th time) and I was told that I have to pay extra to talk to someone to help me fix that issue!?!?! I have to pay extra for advertised functionality? On top of that I can't talk to US tech support unless I buy a different warranty? I can say that without a doubt I will never buy another Alienware product, and this nickel and dime support is getting old.

Any suggestions? I can't even get my M11X swapped out after 4 repairs. This is just starting to seem like a bad joke.

what drivers are you running on the 560m? That's part of the problem right there. As to the m11x repairs, is it the same thing getting repaired all 4 times? If so, I would demand to talk to a supervisor and maybe they will be a bit more lenient on a replacement. Hope this is a little bit helpful.

Edit: M17xR3 HDMI IN not working: **Work around from Nvidia** at last! That should get your HDMI in working under a newer driver :)

The video driver on the m17x is 269.03.

The m11x has had the screen replaced 3 times(faulty hinges), and the motherboard replaced once. This repair is for a new motherboard because of the battery not charging properly(same reason it was replaced the first time) and some of the screws on the bottom are stripped out from people over-tightening screws.

For HDMI check out that link I put in my earlier post and you should be able to get it working. :)

As to the replacement of the m11x, called up alienware, do the usual around the bush talk to the rep, but then ask to talk to a supervisor and explain all the issues you have been having and how you are very unsatisfied and won't be coming back to alienware again. That should help get you somewhere. ;)

I appreciate your advice and I'll give the workaround a shot. It just infuriates me that I have to perform a workaround for advertised functionality and I'm so tired of talking to reps who can barely speak English while read scripted responses back to me.

As for the M11X, I gave up on getting it working properly again a long time ago. I just want it back as close to a new state so I can sell it. I don't feel like I should have to call and harass these people to get results.

Any idea what a good price for a m17x r3 with my specs would be? I'd rather build a new desktop.

Also, your selling range might be 800-1200 based on your current specs for the m17x. I sold another m17x r3 i had for $1200 late last year. Though mine had a 6970m in it instead of Nvidia/+3D
