    Hi all
i have just purchased a alienware m17x r2 a week ago and had only seen all the reviews of it and the only thing they says about the system is ggmghow big it its. Now after i have purchased it i finds this forum and it really dont looks like the system is working whit booth the battery charging and all the drivers for the crossfire cards.
Do i ever get to use the computer or will i spend more time trying to get it to work probably?
    the specs is:
    i7 740qm
    8gb RAM
    crossfire 5870
    640gb hdd raid0

Is it really worth the money because after reading about all those problems i am ready to cancel the order or is it just a small amount of the alienwares that is suffering from the problems.
    PLEASE HELP!

I agree with DboogieC, all systems have their issues. If you face any problems with your system, you will most probably be able to find an answer on this forum.

Everyone here is very helpful and tries their best to give you the right advice on what you should do.

I had problems with my m17x r2 (not with the m11x r2 nor m15x), but after some reading here and following the guidance of each one I managed to have finally the system work smoothly without any issues, running most of the games at full settings without any trouble.

Good luck on your purchase and hope you will enjoy it!

You shouldnt have any serious problems if you take care of your machine. You wont be on the phone with a Rep everyday, You will get your machine and love it !

the problem are HUGE....lolz man just kidding you will be fine seriously. Let me SPAM you with a bunch of link so you can read up on common issues and how to update drivers. If you update the drivers and do the recommend mods you will be very happy. Did you get the RGB screen since that is the most important part about it all and should be # 1 on your list. Honestly every laptop or tech device will have issues unless you read up on how to update to latest software and patch for any bugs. If you spend a little time as soon as you get it and set it up the way you like and make an image of the partition then you will be fine. Any other brand you go to will have similar issues and need some sort of "fixing" to it to have it work the way it should. With alienware you get some awesome customer service and warranty to help with your issues. I hope you picked up an extended warranty on your expensive investment.
