Well, what it tells you is that it won't be able to apply audio enhancements to audio when you plug an HDMI-into the Alienware and try to display content on it.
Not too big of an problem, unless you think that audio enhancement is vital for HDMI-in..

Yeah on a different computer. Driver Enhancements are bovine balderdash anyways.

Well, this is going to be a kind of stupid answer..
but no. It hasn't :p i haven't tried to plug in an HDMI, and i have never had problems with the feature that you mention. (And i don't have an R3)

Although, i wouldn't consider it as a problem.. The only down-side from this is that you get RAW-sound input from the HDMI device, without Windows applying any of the filters like bass boost etc. that is applicable through the sound-panel.

Phew, glad to hear that It's not a problem then. And inzelux, the fact that you don't have an R3 and still help me out Is a pretty good thing. And Widezu, yeah, you're right, I don't hear a difference between the two. Oh, and btw, could you guys tell me what version of IDT you are using??

I'm using the one from the Dell website - 1.0.6330.0. The drivers website seems to be having troubles at the moment. For the best sound (in my opinion), I've enabled Waves Maxx, with MaxxBass, MaxxStereo on full and MaxxDialogue ticked. Seems to make up for the fact that the R3 has no woofer. Try it out see what you think.

Oh I just checked by going into the uninstall programs window, scrolling to the IDT and checking it from there.

Edit: Seems that I have version 6330 and you have 6320. Looking for a link for you for an updated version now.

It was pretty stupid and I posted a thread on this earlier. But i can't seem to find it. My problem was that when I plugged in my speakers to the jack farthest from me (not the SPDIF) I could only hear audio through the "Headphone" setting not the "Rear Speaker" setting but when I plugged in the same speakers to the jack closest to me I can hear audio through the "Headphone" setting and the "Front Speaker" Setting.
