Hi. Dry I don't know where I can ask my question. I buy aw 17 r1 and change bios over clocking and now the laptop show black screen. What can I do ? I open the case cover and pull up CMOS battery and laptop battery and push them again , but nothing happens and black screen come again. Unfortunately the ram is on slot 1 or 2 not 3 or 4. How can I reset bios without dissemble PALM rest?
I want crying. I just bought it yesterday and now I can't do any thing.plzz help.

Does it still power on?
What settings did you exactly change? -
Yes . its power on . lights are on. But on screen. I change over clock setting like power and core multipler
-
Its power on and after few second , the laptop noise go down but still the laptop is on.
-
What CPU do you have mq or mx?
-
-
So before you changed the settings it was booting fine, you say?
You could give this a try: pull the CPU and then try to power on. It should give you beep code every time you try, then power it down by holding the power button. Do this two times, and then put the CPU back in. You may have success that way.
But you would also need new thermal paste for the CPU. -
But this way , I should dissemble all laptop parts , and I think its a very hard job. I want to keep palm rest intact. Is there any way?
-
No not all parts, just the bottom plate, CPU fan and CPU heatsink. Anyway you need to be very careful and also ground yourself before starting, by touching some metal connected to the floor, a radiator or a metallic door frame for example.

No luck. Noooooooo

Vollaaaa. After all. I remove palm rest and remove my ram , and bios works now. Yesss. But I have another question. And this is before my overclock. My laptop suddenly shut down with hard CPU load and after 10 sec of stress test. I install xtu and reduce turbo boot power max to 30 ( form 54) and turbo boost short power max to 40 ( from 72) solve the problem with better benchmark and stabilty. Can you help me?
-
Because every time I start windows I must reconfigure xtu and I want to know what's the problem. And my CPU temp go high to 94 Celsius on stress test.
-
Keeping the mx in check is a rather hard job in the aw17. Hard to cool it down, had a similar experience in my ex aw17, with a 4910mq which is not soo far below a mx.
Needs really good undervolting and a far superior cooling than the stock one. -
Can I do this on bios menu? Really afraid of bios change now on my own knowledge.
-
You could do that with xtu or throttlestop. It needs patience and time, lot of both
And I think your CPU would be very glad bout a new paste job. -
Thanks to your advice , I remove CPU , and reattach it with new thermal paste and heatsink and fan cleaning and now I have temp about 88 Celsius on stress test. But Its bothering xtu configuration every time windows boots.
-
I don't know however what's the best temp in 4930mx and what is the best max turbo power watt. Is 88 degree dangerous?
-
For Haswell as they tend to run hotter, 88° may not be dangerous at all, but close to. That temps cause throttling. Good is 80-85, around and below 80 is desirable.
You should start playing with Turbo power etc. when your cooling setup is improved, not earlier.
