    Quick question:

Dell Dispatch status turned from OPEN to AWAITING PARTS.

Does this mean that currently in the warehouse the parts are not available??

Also I am supposed to receive:

    0CWMH ASSEMBLY..., LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY..., 17WUXGA, RED/GREEN/BLUE..., M17X10

But is the lid color going to be red or what?? Is there a way to confirm myself?

Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

Having only that, no. But I think the screen won't come with the lid on it so he'll have to use your current one. Anyway It's as easy as removing two screws to swap the lids.

i thought dell would never have tech replace just the screen inside due to dust going in. I thought for sure the whole screen and lid has to be fixed from factory

Actually I am inclined to agree with the other poster...its not all that difficult to replace the screen. Did AW insist that they have a tech do it? Or did they just send it to you? Usually they make a big fuss about you not doing it yourself if they dont want you to do it or dont intend their to be any end-user interference.

That's correct, screen assemblies, motherboards and a few other parts are not considered user serviceable parts, that's why they send a "tech" in to do it.

@Dellienware only the LCD itself is glued to the edge to edge plexy, not the aluminium lid. The last one is held by two screws, you'll see it for yourself when you'll open it.
