Hey everyone, got my new m17x (specs are second system listed in sig), and anytime I try to boot into windows I get up to the login screen, I login, and I go immediately to a BSOD that sayus " a clock interrupt was not received on secondary processor within the allotted time." I've already reinstalled windows and all drivers, and then when I called dell they did the same thing through alien conyact. Anyone have any ideas what could cause this? Thanks for the help in advanced.

I get that BSOD when my CPU is clocked too high. That's not an extreme CPU though, so I can't offer much other info.

    Oles chiefs,

That used to be caused by the old vbios. The new vbios should have fixed it. I'm guessing you have that and the new drivers installed.

Also usually if it happens again its best to remove the battery and then the CMOS battery then hold the alien power head down for 2 mins then plug everything back in and boot up. You may need to use the last known good configuration to get back into windows.

    Cheers. :)

Alright, so I was finally able to flash my VBIOS, I had no blank CDs (DvD's weren't recognized :( ) and my only flash drives were 4gb+ so I couldn't do that. Borrowed a 256mb flash drive from my school's tech department that must've been god knows how old, and flashed my VBIOS, ran a CPU test that my dell tech told me to run for 30 minutes on 4 cores, and 45 minutes on 5 cores (idk what it was) and haven't suffered anymore errors. I'm really hoping my problems are over with. I appreciate all your help guys. :D

Well it happened to me right out of the box. I opened it up, went to dell.com to update my drivers and BAM, bsod.

I think Reborn hooked him up. Glad to see your rig is back on line. I hate it when my stuff isn't working.

I was pissed because it happened AFTER i loaded all my music and stuff on, so i'll have to do it all over again :(

Downloading chrome + firefox and itunes and all is just so annoying to do 3 times in 2 days :p not to mention skype MSN and AIM

I've honestly fallen in love with NBR, so many useful people. Reborn and his aussie-ness are a huge help, plus i think it's hilarious that he uses "chief" and "oles" in every single post. haha :D
