No, I just have 2 500GB HDDs. I use one for installing programms, OS, etc and the other for media such as music, films and so on.

This last one just have 1,22Gb left and I've been planning to buy and external HDD but I haven't get into it yet so I'll have to buy it soon.

Will use SeaTools and come back here with the outcome.

I recently installed Seatools but it didn't open up after installation due to .Net framework 4.0 (even tho I've got it installed). I've made a quick search and I found this: Re: Seagate Tools says I need .net 4...I HAVE IT A... - Seagate Community Forums

Followed those steps and I was finally able to run it but after rescanning several times, seatools doesn't find any devices on my computer.

Banehx, do you move your computer wihle its turned on? Or bump into it? Cause movement or anything? Could you try tapping it and see if you get a BSOD?

I sometimes move it from the desk to the bed while it's turned on. Since I take off the Ram modules and put them in again I haven't had any BSOD but I dunno if it's been solved. I tapped it softly and no BSOD cause I don't want to hit it harder to be honest :p.

Just pay attention when you get a BSOD, and note down if you tapped it, moved it, tilted it, shook it etc. If that is the case then you have a problem with your freefall sensor and I would suggest disabling it :) If not then keep on troubleshooting :p

That's good news. I hope it stays that way. Maybe the RAM wasn't properly seated. Do keep us updated.

That's interesting. What led you think of the freefall sensor? Have you had BSOD's related to the accelerometer?

His memtest didn't show signs of faulty ram.

Yeah, I've had BSOD issues on my m17x R2 a while back. Random BSOD for several months or so till I finally figured out that the freefall sensor is oversensitive and the driver is the culprit that causes a BSOD. This sensor is built into the m17x not the harddrives so it doesnt matter what kind of HD you have, it will still be active. I disabled it by running CMD in administrator mode (All Programs > Accessories > right click on Command Prompt > Run as administrator.), and then I think the command was something like:

    sc config Acceler start= disabled

After reboot the driver was disabled and so was the free fall sensor. No more BSOD.

Could try it :p If the freefall sensor is your BSOD culprit this should solve it.

    That's interesting. Thanks for input.
There's nothing in the dump files to indicate that as a cause but I'll keep that in mind for future reference. :)

Sometimes if the RAM isn't properly seated all the way, it can cause issues even if memtest doesn't pick up on them.

Not even Dell found anything in the dump that indicated the sensor :) It's just one of those issues that are hard to detect.

Not to derail the thread but if you still have the dump files I would be be very interested to take a look at them. I'm curious to know what the system identified as the cause.

Don't have the dump files (obviously). This problem was last year. And it was pointing at random memory corruption if I remember correctly. Eventlog just showed a crash of a random program (don't remember which one, but a very common file).

So guys no BSOD yet. I've installed OSD because of some stuttering audio while lowering brightness or just by tapping the stealth mode. Dunno but OSD didn't work everywhere I used it so I removed it until I get another BSOD. Let's see how it goes.

Good news I guess since I've got no BSOD yet!. But I think there is something wrong with my system startup. Sometimes it took like 20-25 secs to start since I wrote my password but other times it takes like 2-3 secs to get into the desktop so pretty fast even with Karpesky.

But ii's been taking forever for a few days (20-25 secs). I uninstalled Karpesky and disabled Facial recognition to give it a try but it took the same amount of time so I dunno which could be the issue. I always run Ccleaner, I don't have any undesirable program running while startup process so it may be a HDD issue maybe?. But it is weird that, a few days back, it could take 4 secs to get into the desktop or it could take 20-25 secs. Now it takes 20-25 every time I turn on the computer.

How much free disk space do you have on your boot drive? While you are waiting for it to start doing you hear any clicking sounds? Is the drive indicator flickering during this time?

I've got 397Gb left in the HDD where W7 is installed. And yes it does flicker while starting up (the eyes light on the alienhead are always on but sometimes those eyes flicker).

Hey guys! No bsods yet so I am quite happy about it.

Unfortunately I am still dealing with high temperatures while playing D3/Dota2 so I decided to order a Cooler Master NotePal U3 to set it under the laptop. Ive been reading about it and something came up about not placing the fans right underneath the exhaust fan because it will be useless. Thing is I did not quite understand what an exhaust fan is so I am looking for advice on how to properly place the three fans. Ive been thinking about placing two of them right under the two fans located on both sides of the laptop (gpu fans?) and the one Ive got left covering the middle part of the laptop where the HDDs, CPU fan and so on are situated.

You guys think it is a proper assembly to get the most out of it? Thanks and sorry for the dumb question :p

So I think BSODs are finally gone. Nevertheless once every three days I experience a weird situation. Suddenly the computer freezes for like 20-30 secs and then it beeps and returns to normal. I've searched about BIOS beeps but I didn't find anything relevant.

Today BSODs problem finally arose after a few months of peace. This is the dumpfile. 100412-26676-01.dmp
