    Hi!

So i've checked around the forums but can't seem to find anyone having the same problems as me.

    After i upgraded to 70.06.3B.00.08, A02, I get BSOD's all the time.
Usually when I go to Nvidias page to download drivers it autofills all dropdowns with 460m, win7 64 and so on. Now nividas page thinks its a card of 500 series for some reason.
Therefore I though i got the wrong bios, but the file is named "GTX460M_vbios_A02.iso" so its the correct one.

    Another dell up?

Do anybody have a backup of the old vbios so I can downflash?
Because this is seriously fubar. I can't even upgrade/reinstall nvidia drivers because it doesn't find my card anymore.

    Regards
    0verseer

i'd give alienware support a call and see if they can help you. If not, you will probably end up with a new card like a 560m or if your lucky a 580m or 6990m because dell doesn't sell the 460m anymore. Good luck getting this fixed cause i'm not sure how that bios would jack up your system. I'm running that same bios now without any problems.

I'm curious, can you dump your VBIOS and post it here? Preferably with nvflash from a DOS booted USB drive, else simply a GPU-Z dump.

    Sure man, here it is.
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8306158/Untitled.jpg

Edit: I tried dumping to file using the button to the right of bios version, bet gets the error "BIOS reading is not supported for this device"

Everything I try doing, that has something to do with the graphicscard ends up in crashes in application, so if there is anything else (dumpwise) you meant in GPUz, i can't get it, because the gpuz crashes after 3-4 sec after opening.
Even explorer.exe crashes when I try to open the context menu by rightclicking on the desktop (to go into nvidia controlpanel).

    Any ideas?
Dellsupport might be up for it (again), a newer card would be nice.

Well the most weird thing is that Nvidias homepage or the 460m drivers doesn't recognize my card anymore, so guess im screwed more or less.

Yeah, ok... can you dump the VBIOS using nvflash from a DOS bootable USB stick? With this you can also revert back to an older VBIOS version which should solve your issues.

To dump the vbios use this command:
    Code:
    nvflash -b orig460m.rom
And to flash a vbios use:
    Code:
    nvflash -5 -6 name.rom
(where "name" is the name of the file, the file needs to be in the root of the USB drive, as well as nvflash)

In case you don't know how to create a DOS bootable USB drive check step 1&2 in the link.

I great, I will try that one out. You don't happen to have the older version of the vbios to revert to?

I recently lost the biggest part of my VBIOS collection cause my SSD died (8MB bug), but here's one that should work. Though I can't really check it atm since I don't have the tools installed.
