I keep getting BSoDs. I am probably going to have to reinstall windows, but I thought I would ask around first.

They seem to occur under 2 conditions..

    1) On battery power, after about 5-10 minutes, I get a BSoD, the laptop then reboots w/o issues.

    2) Whenever I have Memory XMP Profile 2 enabled, which is the best to use to get the most out of my Hyper-X 1600 RAM, I get random BSoDs. The only way to get rid of them is to change the memory profile to default.

I installed the RAM and my Video card, all AFTER I installed windows. So I think windows 7 may be holding onto some older memory or driver configuration that is causing these issues. But if at all possible I would like to avoid a re-install.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

Valkerie, have you tested the ram with something like memtest86?

And is your ram running at full speeds at the default profile? XMP profile 2 is better, but it may not be necessary

According to HWinfo64, without XMP2, I am running at 1333. Memtest86 is an excellent Idea, I will run that ASAP. Thanks + Rep.

    thanks! :D

ya, without xmp2, it often downclocks the ram. most people that run these kits don't even realize that they are running at 1333

Also, check your ram timings. I can't remember if you have the ability to change them on the stock bios, but with the unlocked A08 that i'm using, i can set them to whatever i like

Good call slick dude. Looks like the RAM is definitely the issue. While running on XMP2 mode I got multiple errors in the hour I ran it for.

Looks like it is time to call Kingston for warranty support.

I just filled out a warranty claim. Looks like they offer cross shipping for USA customers. If approve it, they will take my credit card info, and ship me new ram, and then I can send the old ram back. Nice deal. I will update when I know more.
