When i try to play with medium settings, it's a bit laggy but playable, but I was expecting to play on high settings and it would run smooth.... but it doesn't and it's hard to play with that lag

    i7 740qm
    Radeon 5870
    4 gb ram
    M17x R2
I have stock Dell driver from August 2010

EDIT : ok so basically, with everything on high, HBAO off, AA 4x, I get 40-70 fps, which is good but the lag I noticed is caused by mini-freeze, sometimes it's smooth and then i have a 0.5 second lag then it comes back normal. It happens very often...

Hey man, i had the same problems days ago, inap help me a lot with it, your lap "as mine", should run it; i think you must be on Dirext11, go to:
C:\Users\YOURUSER\Documents\BFBC2\ and find the file called settings.ini, open this with note pad and find the string "DxVersion", make sure this is not at 11, if it is, change this to 10, or 9, do your test, also, set AA=0, BAO (something like that)=0, etc, test.
