Good Luck chiefs.
If BFC2 is your primary game that you want to enjoy then that sounds like a good idea. Hope they are able to accommodate the change for you. Perhaps they might ask for a surcharge or you to pay the difference, who knows really. Let us know how you go.
I too am waiting for AMDs mobility 10.10 driver to see if it will improve some games for me. I sure hope it will.

Eagerly awaiting for 10.10 as well...
-
I might see how the 10.10 goes and how this plays with the new Medal of Honor. If the 10.10's don't fix things then I'll pursue trying to change the cards a little more. First I want to see how other members cards work when they get theirs -
Yep some members like Lozz should be getting their 285s sometime this week.
I'll be getting medal of honour soon. Hopefully sometime this week. Can't wait to play it oles!!!
Cheers. -
NOW I'm PO'd.... I played for about 3 hours this morning, got off, checked my email, ate lunch, watched Bones on hulu, and since I started playing again, its been crashing every time I die, leaving me with about 1 minute of gameplay. 10.10 BETTER fix this....

It seems that after some initial semi-stable play with the new drivers/vbios, I've been noticing a lot more flickering lately and screen just going black for a few seconds at a time...which really sucks when your ducking for cover! Crashes to desktop remain regardless of what I do. Sometimes they are frequent and sometimes not.
When you guys mention 10.10, are you talking about the AMD drivers or the Dell Drivers? I wasn't aware that you could successfully install the AMD drivers on the M17X which is why I ask. I have always used the Dell drivers. Could someone clarify this for me? -
Yeh with the new vbios support for the AMD drivers seems to be working. A few peeps tried the 10.8 last time and they worked quite well. All the functionality was intact and it worked well. Not to sure if you still have to use the workaround=true method or not but guess we shall see.
Cheers. -
Have you guys tried forcing Vsync on in CCC see if it helps?
-
The VSync didn't change the crashes for me, or anything else for that matter. It just made my framerate lower and seem stuttery-er

So far, I've reduced my problems with BFBC2 to a minimum. The worst I experience now are occasional black screen which only go away after I move around a bit (mind you it's still annoying) and flickering textures. The previous problems I had with CTD's have gone away and I enjoy the extended gaming sessions now.
My current setup is BIOS A09, latest VBIOS and latest Dell video drivers.
I've been able to tolerate the current set up and didn't want to mess with the latest 10.10 betas until they are proven to provide a substantial boost.
My game settings are pretty much maxed with HBAO and Vsync off.
But it may be all for nothing as new FPS's come out, BFBC2's popularity starts to wane.
