I have a M17X and my battery is not charging when plugged in. Is there some setting that I am missing? We got this laptop at the end of March. Sure doesn't seem like this battery should be going dead yet.

Okay, I turned off the laptop completely, unplugged, took out the battery and reinstalled. When I turned it back on, it is now charging. Weird.

Pressing FN+F2 several times will give you different options for the battery. Pressing three times should enable battery charging while in Windows (read the manual for a detailed explanation). Function buttons and touch panel work only if you have OSD installed (and working).

For further usage, if the enabler doesnt work from within Windows, pulling out the mains and battery and holding the power button for 20seconds, should reset the battery status.

Also, make sure you have the latest BIOS on your system.

Hey man....If it does it again it's a simple fix. Have it plugged in & turned on....lift it up or tilt it to the side a tad bit(your preference)....pop the battery out wait about 5 to 10 seconds...& pop the battery back in. It should now show plugged in & charging.
